Whitney and Cooper’s Lake Maggiore wedding at Relais Villa Porta was an effortless mix of Mediterranean beauty and unmistakable American energy. There was the boat ride, champagne by the lake, a sparkler-filled cake cutting and then a dance floor where everyone let loose. A day that started beautifully and ended exactly where it should: with everyone dancing.
A Lake Maggiore wedding at Relais Villa Porta in Luino
The day began with a string quartet setting the tone and ended with a DJ who kept the dance floor full until late. In between came the moments that make a Lake Maggiore wedding so special: a boat ride across the water, the villa’s terraces right by the lake and guests who had travelled from far away to be there.
Relais Villa Porta sits directly on the shore, with gardens, terraces and views that need very little help to look cinematic. For the film, I balanced editorial frames of the villa and the couple with documentary coverage of the real, unscripted moments, and kept the original sound of the vows, the speeches and the laughter.
